Ball canning and freezing recipes

Ball canning and freezing recipes
A great primer for home canning!
From the first page:
A Canning Pattern
Alter to Fit Your Needs
Our pattern is size 8 months. It should fit you if you live where the season for fresh home grown fruits and vegetables is short. But better not “buy it” until you ask yourself; “What canned foods do we like best? How often do we want them? How many new recipes should I try this year? How much and what should I put up to give away—for church and school affairs, to a sick neighbor, to the friend who has 'most everything except good home canned food'?”…

How much material will it take?
That's a hard one to answer. So much depends upon the kind and condition of the material and how it is prepared and packed for canning. However, the chart will give you an idea of how many quarts you may be able to can from a bushel or a lug of raw fruits and vegetables. The weights given are average—not exact.
....Material......Raw ......Canned
Apricots......1 bu (48 lb)......16-24 qts
..................1 lug (22 lb)......7-11 qts
etc.
